About The 108 Event
The 108 Event is a global movement that unites people through the sacred practice of 108 Sun and Moon Salutations — performed simultaneously around the world at each solstice and equinox. Four times a year, thousands of practitioners come together in parks, studios, rooftops, and living rooms to honour the rhythm of the Earth.
The number 108 carries deep significance across yoga, Buddhism, Hinduism, and astronomy. It is the approximate ratio of the Sun's diameter to its distance from Earth, and it appears throughout sacred geometry and ancient texts. Performing 108 salutations at a solstice or equinox is both a physical practice and a meditative rite — a way to mark time, connect with nature, and commune with a global community of movers and seekers.
Who is it for?
The 108 Event is open to every body and every level of practice. Whether you are a seasoned yogi, a curious beginner, or someone who simply wants to mark a seasonal transition with intention, there is a place for you here. You can register to practice on your own, join a Local Circle near you, or host your own gathering as a Founding Ambassador.
Who builds it?
The 108 Event platform is built and maintained by a small, dedicated team of yoga practitioners and technologists who believe that technology should serve community, not the other way around. This registration and community app handles event sign-ups, Ambassador applications, Local Circle listings, and partner inquiries — all in service of making the movement as accessible and well-organised as possible. We are grateful for everyone who shows up, in person or virtually, at sunrise or sunset, anywhere on Earth.
