September Equinox

One second. Every person on Earth. The exact astronomical threshold.
The Experience Pass is closed.
But the journey isn't.

Not a festival.
A frequency.
Four times a year, on the solstices and equinoxes, thousands of people across every timezone complete 108 salutations at sunrise and sunset — simultaneously, wherever they are.
In a studio or a living room. On a rooftop or a beach. Moving. Breathing. Together. In São Paulo and Seoul and Nairobi — all on the same planetary momentous day.
The number 108 carries sacred significance across traditions — appearing in cosmology, in prayer, in the architecture of practice itself. Neuroscience has begun to confirm what practitioners have always known: repetitive rhythmic movement is one of the most reliable non-pharmacological pathways into flow states.
This is The 108 Event. And it happens at dawn and dusk, while the Earth itself turns.
The Four Celestial Gates
Each year, Earth's dance with the Sun creates four powerful moments of transformation. We gather at these sacred thresholds to practice, connect, and evolve together.
December Solstice
December 21One hemisphere reaches its longest night, the other its longest day. A threshold of extremes — where darkness and light both peak simultaneously across the globe. A moment to turn inward and outward at once.
March Equinox
March 20Day and night reach perfect equilibrium across every latitude on Earth. A rare planetary balance point — the same for everyone, everywhere. We meet here, at the same second, in symmetry.
June Solstice
June 21The axis tilts to its furthest reach — one pole bathed in continuous light, the other in deep dark. The sun's arc peaks for half the world and retreats for the other. The planet's own rhythm at full expression.
September Equinox
September 22A second moment of global equilibrium. Every person on Earth shares the same ratio of light to dark. Wherever you are, the sky speaks the same language today. We gather at this shared threshold.
108 takes many forms.
The number is the container. What fills it belongs to each practitioner, each community, each tradition. There is no single right way — only the commitment to 108 conscious repetitions at the threshold moments of the year.
108 Sun Salutations
The signature practice. Surya Namaskar, repeated 108 times at first light. Ancient, proven, physiologically extraordinary. Your tradition, your pace, your sequence.
108 Moon Salutations
The closing practice. Chandra Namaskar at dusk — the cooling counterpart to the morning's fire. The nervous system completes its arc.
54 + 54 Split
54 Sun Salutations at sunrise. 54 Moon Salutations at sunset. The full day held in practice, the body moving with the light.
108 of Anything
108 breaths. 108 seconds of stillness. 108 intentional movements. The practice meets the practitioner wherever they are.
Ancient knowing.
Modern confirmation.
The 108 Event is not spiritual theater. It is a designed intervention, grounded in what we now understand about the human nervous system, circadian biology, and the neuroscience of collective movement.
These principles are explored in depth in The Transformative Flow by Carolyn Bentley Wells.
At the exact
astronomical moment.
Every solstice and equinox has a precise universal moment — the instant the Earth reaches that point in its orbit. Not a timezone. Not a sunrise. A single second that every person on Earth shares simultaneously.
Live Broadcast
A produced online gathering timed to the exact astronomical moment of each solstice and equinox. Live participant counter. Global studio map lighting up in real time.
Expert Voice
A brief conversation on what is happening physiologically at this moment — circadian biology, the nervous system, and why moving at seasonal thresholds is not symbolic but biological.
27 Salutations as One
A live-led opening practice — 27 salutations together before participants move into their full 108 in their own space or studio. The communal beginning.
Closing Circle
A 10-minute closing where participants share one word or one image from their practice. The moment a distributed event becomes a community.
One moment. Three ways in.

Why 108?
In yogic tradition, 108 is considered the number of wholeness—a cosmic code woven into the fabric of existence. The distance between Earth and Sun is 108 times the Sun's diameter. The distance to the Moon is 108 times the Moon's diameter.
There are 108 sacred sites in India, 108 Upanishads, and 108 beads on a mala. When we complete 108 salutations, we align with this universal harmony, moving through physical challenge into transcendence.
Each salutation becomes a prayer. Each breath a connection to something greater. Together, we weave a web of light around the planet.
